I’m 23 and still sharing a ride with my old man. Well, not that I’m complaining!? But I get busier day by day while my old man isn’t getting less busier himself. I’ve been thinking of getting my own 4wheels since two years ago. The problem is Volkswagen Beetle has caught my heart since I was in school. A cute bug car that I can’t afford. Sadly, in South-East Asia, paying a car equals to buying ONE FOR YOURSELF and TWO FOR THE GOVERNMENT.

In the US, a BEETLE costs USD$15.000 (roughly) . But over here, a BEETLE costs IDR450.000.000 (roughly). That is three times the original price!!!

Unfortunately, the government takes 2/3 of the portion as tax on imported cars. So for now, I guess I’ll pick a cheaper and more affordable car rather than being immobile.

My eyes are laying on the new Honda Jazz which is way cheaper than BEETLE.

An agent said the price is estimated to be around IDR 188.000.000 (USD20.434 , still with this price I could have gotten a BEETLE in the states.) So, am I getting this car or not?? Hmmmphh, on one hand, car is a liability, on the other hand, it is a media of transport that is crucial in my busy than ever activity. (Are you getting this car or not???) . Easy .. easy … masuk juga belom tuh mobil.
